Lily's 2½ Months Old and Getting Dedicated!

Having turned 2 months old right before Christmas, Lily just keeps on growing, getting bigger and bigger every day. In addition to looking around more and starting to smile, she's starting to notice other people a lot more, even herself. When you add into that this weekend's dedication service...well, it's picture time.

The stages of Lily's feelings
on picture taking: disgust...
...resignation... ...and happiness.
In which Lily sleeps so hard
on my shoulder that her
hands apparently get stuck.
The dedication service
begins, and we all present
ourselves for approval.
Maria introduces everyone
and makes a deeply ill-advised
ethnic joke. (Not really.)
In which Josh manages to hide
completely behind his wife and
stay out of a picture.
Pastor Dove takes the
newly dedicated Lily and
holds her for the first time.
Almost everyone prays, except
for one person who decided
to whisper into my nose.
Pastor elects not to keep
the baby forever.
Lily checks out the other baby in the mirror. (Does this
situation seem familiar? How about now? Or now?)
Aidan, Mr. Shy and Withdrawn,
decides to get into the picture.
Aidan engages in lion
attacks as Lily looks at
the camera in weariness.
Aidan tries to ham it up as
his sister looks at him
with love. And confusion.
A double helping of cheese. Lily waits to greet the pilgrims
who seek her guidance.
If there's one picture that justifies
this gallery, it's this one.

Fearful of losing his soul to
the camera, Aidan flees.
A prim and proper face.
