The Birth of Joshua Aidan Mauthe

On September 25, 2006, Joshua Aidan Mauthe entered this world, two weeks late and quite a bit heavier than we expected: 10 pounds, 10 ounces. EEP! What follows are some pictures from our hospital stay--don't worry, no gory birth pictures.

If, however, you're more interested to see everyone that came out to see and hold little (big) Aidan, check out Aidan's visitors page.

The morning before it all went down. Maria, looking very happy and very pregnant, blissfully unaware of what the day would hold. Aidan, not five minutes after birth, being examined by docs.
Proof of my son's enormous size. Take that, doubters! My wife's first real time to hold Aidan (the first time after
she was fully out of labor mode, anyways).
Me and my son, take one. Aidan emerges from the womb, only to meet
an unpleasant fate indeed: the bathtub.
Aidan and Mom, a little later, post cleanup. All the vital stats.
Chilling out in his crib. Sleeping away amidst all of his adoring fans and visitors. Mom and Aidan share a
quiet moment alone.
Aidan and I hanging out, hiding from the crowds. Aidan registers his
boredom and fatigue.
Mom, finally being able to stand and walk a bit, enjoying
holding her child while being on her own two feet.
The men of the house
asleep, waiting on Mom.
The happy family, in the same place, the same time,
and the same camera shot. FINALLY!
Aidan awaits his departure from the hospital. Aidan's cart/bed while he was in the hospital.
Departure time. And we had
already sent some stuff home...
Mom and baby being
wheeled out of the hospital.
Aidan's first car trip...
...which he was clearly overwhelmed by and massively impressed with. Or something like that.
